Dated obligations ahead: what falls due from October 2026 to March 2027
Our records hold 178 dated obligations that still lie ahead of 7 October 2026, taken from 130 of the news, business news and HR items we published since 1 September. They run from 8 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. By kind, 58 are grant or scheme deadlines, 58 are vendor changes, 55 are regulation or tax dates and 7 are security deadlines. October alone carries 67, November 44, December 31, January 22, February 4 and March 10.
The most crowded week is Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November, with 25 entries: 10 grant or scheme closings, 9 rules or consultations and 6 vendor changes. Monday 26 October brings the Brazilian data protection consultation, the Celtic-Next proposal and the DWP innovation fund. Thursday 29 October brings an AWS closure to new customers, a Chinese standards consultation and the first EcoIDEN cut-off in France. Friday 30 October is the densest single day of the week, with 9 entries including the UAE e-invoicing provider deadline, the UK sexual harassment duty and the ChatGPT Pro allowance cut. Two other weeks come close: 22 entries in the week of 12 October and 22 in the week of 28 December, the last of which holds the New Year start dates. The single busiest day is Friday 1 January with 12 entries.
Seen by place, 65 entries are global vendor changes with no single country. Of the rest, 42 separate jurisdictions appear, plus 11 entries from EU institutions. The largest contributors are the United Kingdom with 11, France with 8, the United States with 8 and Brazil with 7, followed by Pakistan, South Korea, Germany, China and Australia with 4 each.
Every entry below links to the item it came from. Read the date first, then the item, because the item holds the conditions, the amounts and the people affected.
How we counted
We started from 246 mentions of a date between 8 October 2026 and 31 March 2027 in the 438 news, business news and HR items published since 1 September 2026, with the cut-off at 7 October 2026. We kept a date only where a business must act or something is switched off: a rule taking effect, a filing or registration deadline, a consultation closing, a grant or scheme call closing, a product retirement, a price change, an end of support or a patch deadline. We left out past-tense mentions, forecasts, conferences, call opening dates, information webinars, applicant notification dates, takeover votes and completions, and layoff effective dates. 27 mentions repeated a deadline already counted from another item or another sentence, and 41 more fell into the excluded groups. Where one item gives several real steps, each step is its own entry, so 178 entries come from 130 items. Dates that an item itself marks as unconfirmed are kept and flagged in the text.
October 2026
The first month is the heaviest, partly because the notices are fresh and partly because grant rounds and tax filing windows close together. Grants make up 24 of its 67 entries.

What the list does not show at a glance
One day carries twelve starts. Friday 1 January has 12 entries: 10 rules or laws and 2 vendor changes. They come from Greece, the UAE, Mexico, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Poland, California, Connecticut, Shopify and Dropbox. Three of the twelve carry a caveat in their item: the Polish tax package is a draft, the Mexican customs reform still needs a floor vote and the California AI-at-work laws have disputed start dates. A firm with US, Latin American and European customers cannot treat that day as one task.
Vendors stack their own changes. Microsoft has 16 separate dated changes in the window, from the Exchange Web Services allow list on 10 October to the Exchange Online PowerShell enforcement on 31 March. OpenAI has 7 dated removals or plan changes, GitHub 7 and Google 5. GitHub's ssh-rsa removal alone has three dates, on 14 October, 4 November and 9 December. Reddit has four, Pulley three and Tencent, HashiCorp, DigitalOcean, Twilio and Atlassian two each. The practical reading is that a team on a single vendor often has several deadlines in one quarter, so the first date is rarely the last.
Some dates are not firm. 9 entries carry a caveat in their own item: the Windows 10 extended security updates year-two date comes from third-party advisers and was not read on a Microsoft page, the EU AI Act nudification ban is dated 2 December by Euronews while the Commission says only December, Anatel's consultation closing date is our own count, the Polish tax package and the California AI-at-work laws have unconfirmed start dates, the Shopify removal is worked out from a quarterly schedule, Red.es gives only about 10 November, the EuroHPC tender has conflicting dates on Commission pages and the Mexican customs reform needs its floor vote. Check the source before putting any of these in a plan.
Some deadlines have already moved once. 6 entries, from 5 items, report a date that was extended or delayed: Greece's e-invoicing start for smaller firms, the Chips Joint Undertaking call, Pakistan's Tax Year 2026 return deadline, India's tax audit report and return of income dates, and Brazil's Simples Nacional option window. Where a date has moved once, it is fair to ask whether it will move again, but none of our items says it will.
Invoicing rules arrive in pieces. 9 entries concern e-invoicing or invoice document rules: Greece has three dates (2 November, 1 January and 31 January), the UAE three (30 October, 1 January and 31 March), and the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Chile one each. A group with operations in several of these countries meets a different test in each, and the UAE splits businesses by revenue, with AED 50 million or more first and smaller firms by 31 March 2027.
One funding round-up covers 10 of the dates. Our weekly European funding item supplies 10 entries across Slovakia, Finland, Italy, Spain, Germany and the EU as a whole. Grant and scheme dates tie with vendor changes as the largest kind, at 58 entries each, but most are for firms based in the country or region that runs the call, so only a fraction applies to any one company.
The later months are thin in our records, not necessarily in the world. Only 14 entries fall in February and March, against 67 in October. We expect the later months to fill as more notices arrive.
