Ireland opens €40m DTIF call for tech consortia, closing 3 February
1 October 2026: Ireland has opened the eighth call of its Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund, with €40 million available for collaborative projects that bring a company, other partners and research expertise together. Applications close at 3pm Irish time on 3 February 2027.
Not yet independently verified. The fund's technology themes and the exact project-duration rules were not checked beyond the department's summary. Applicants should read the call document before preparing a bid. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The fund, run by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment with Enterprise Ireland, backs the development and use of disruptive technologies on a commercial basis. Minister Peter Burke announced the call on 9 June, and the window opened on 1 October 2026. Since 2018 the fund has supported 131 collaborative projects, with awards averaging about €4 million over seven calls, and the government has committed €530 million in total.
A bid must come from a consortium of at least three eligible partners. The department's announcement says a consortium needs at least one SME, and that partners must be based in Ireland and be clients of Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland or Údarás na Gaeltachta, or be eligible research organisations. Irish semi-state bodies and public bodies can join as non-funded partners. The minimum funding request is €1.5 million, and the announcement describes projects of three to seven years aimed at commercialisation. SMEs must provide matched funding, and the department says large companies contribute 60%.
Projects are ranked on weighted evaluation scores and funded in that order, and are expected to start within six months of the minister's award announcement. A pre-eligibility check is mandatory before submission, and bids go in through the ei.submit.com portal.
Enterprise Ireland is running regional DisrupTech on Tour information and matchmaking events until 15 October, and an information webinar on 22 October 2026.
