France: applications for the seventh ETIncelles cohort for growth SMEs close on 9 October 2026

1 October 2026 — French growth companies have just over a week left to apply to ETIncelles, the government programme that helps small and medium-sized enterprises grow into mid-sized companies (ETI, entreprises de taille intermédiaire). The Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE) opened the call for the seventh cohort on 9 December 2025. Its page says applications can be filed until 9 October 2026.

Not yet independently verified. This rests on the DGE’s own call page, read on 1 October 2026; it gives the closing day but not a closing time. No independent report was checked. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

Who can apply

The call is open to growth SMEs, as INSEE defines them, with their head office in France that have not already been through a support programme. The DGE lists four selection criteria:

  • Growth: strong growth over the past two years and the ambition to become an ETI.
  • Size: between 60 and 220 employees.
  • Export: already present in international markets, or planning to expand there.
  • Innovation: a significant share of spending on research and development.

The DGE says it will spread the selected companies fairly across France, and will pay particular attention to companies with gender parity in their leadership team and ambitious corporate social responsibility policies.

What the programme offers

Selected companies are supported by the ETIncelles team for 18 months. The programme aims to support 400 SMEs on the path to ETI status by 2027. A new cohort of about 50 companies starts each year, and 297 companies have joined so far.

Why it matters to software and services firms

Many French software publishers, digital agencies and IT services firms sit in exactly this band: 60 to 220 staff, growing, exporting and spending heavily on R&D. Mid-sized status changes how a company is treated by public buyers, banks and investors, and the programme is designed to shorten the path there.

What to do

  • Check eligibility against the four criteria, especially the head-office, headcount and "no previous programme" conditions.
  • File the online application on the DGE page before 9 October 2026. Do not leave it to the last day, as no closing time is given.
  • Prepare growth, export and R&D figures for the past two years in advance; they are the basis of selection.
