Five public funding calls for companies with fixed dates: Tennessee matches SBIR awards from 5 October, Vinnova opens a cyber-AI call on 13 October, Finep takes proposals to April 2027, Israel closes a talent call on 13 October, SPRIND on 30 November.

29 September 2026 — Five public funding programmes open to companies have dates in the coming weeks. Each is taken from the funder's own page; amounts are the funders' own stated limits.

Tennessee: SBIR/STTR Matching Fund, 5 to 16 October

Launch Tennessee's FY2027 Matching Fund opens on 5 October 2026 at 9 a.m. Central time and closes on 16 October. Tennessee companies that received a qualifying federal SBIR or STTR Notice of Award between 1 July 2025 and 30 September 2026 can receive up to 50% of the federal award: up to $100,000 for Phase I and up to $300,000 for Phase II. First-time applicants and companies in life sciences, advanced energy, agriculture and mobility get priority.

Sweden: "Cybersecurity, AI and resilience", opens 13 October

Vinnova's call under its Advanced Digitalisation programme funds industry-driven projects that use AI to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats, or that make industrial AI robust and secure. Applicants must form a consortium of at least two parties, including at least one Swedish company. Grants are SEK 1–10 million per project, at most 50% of eligible costs, for 12–24 months. The call opens on 13 October 2026, holds an information meeting on 23 October and closes on 19 January 2027 at 14:00; decisions are due on 18 March 2027.

Brazil: Finep COOPERAMAIS for companies, to 30 April 2027

Finep published on 22 September a continuous-intake call for non-reimbursable innovation grants, with a total budget of R$ 120 million, for companies of any size that develop new products or processes for Brazil's agro-industry and food security in partnership with family-farm cooperatives. A financial counterpart is required. Proposals are accepted through Finep's platform until 30 April 2027 at 17:00. The call states no ceiling per project; a sister call is open only to research institutions.

Israel: global talent for biopharma, closes 13 October

The Israel Innovation Authority's Human Capital for High-Tech Fund published a call on 23 September for Israeli-registered recruitment and placement agencies, non-profits and companies with biopharma recruitment experience, to find and place senior executives from abroad in Israeli biopharma companies. Grants cover 50–70% of budgets up to NIS 1 million, and 30–50% above that. The deadline is 13 October 2026 at 12:00 Israel time.

Germany and the Netherlands: AI-Native Chip Design, 30 November

SPRIND, Germany's federal agency for breakthrough innovation, with the Dutch National Agency for Disruptive Innovation, is running a challenge to use AI to shorten the design of high-performance chips. Teams can receive up to €2.6 million in an eight-month first stage and up to €7.0 million in a twelve-month second stage. Applications close on 30 November 2026 at 11:00 CET; webinars are on 9 October and 17 November.

Check eligibility on each funder's page now: the Tennessee window is twelve days long, and the Israeli call closes in two weeks.

The Israel Innovation Authority page refused our reader and was read by another route; its grant rates and deadline were not re-checked a second time.
