Town raises $108m Series B at a $1bn valuation for team AI assistants
Forerunner and Menlo co-led the round four months after a $55 million Series A; Town says paying teams are up ninefold since July, and each…
Town is a San Francisco company that gives each person on a work team an AI assistant, a Townie, which connects to their email, calendar and tools and can hand work to the Townies of colleagues.
Town (Town.com, Inc.) is a San Francisco software company that builds an AI work assistant meant for teams rather than single users. Each person gets a personal assistant called a Townie. The company launched publicly in June 2026 and announced a Series B round on 19 October 2026.
A Townie connects to the email, documents, calendar and chat tools its person uses, and learns that person's projects, relationships and writing voice. Examples on the site include drafting a reply to a client who wants to move a meeting, summarising a busy Slack channel into the open questions, suggesting a better time for a calendar slot, and logging calls in a CRM. The integrations listed cover messaging, calendar, meetings, CRM, file storage, project management, data, development and finance tools, plus any MCP server. The site also lists routines and shared workflows that a team can set up once so that every member's Townie follows them.
What sets Town apart from a personal assistant, the company says, is that Townies can ask each other questions and hand off work, so people are not left waiting on colleagues. A Townie shares only what its person would share and asks permission when needed. It can also work by email and text with customers, partners and candidates outside the company. Town says it uses models from several AI labs and picks the best one for each task.
Town targets business teams, with sales, recruiting and operations among the roles shown on its pages. Customer quotes on the site come from small firms such as an investment firm. The company says paying customers have grown four times and paying teams nine times since July 2026.
Town states that it is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, publishes a data processing agreement, and by default does not train models on anything a customer connects. According to its press release, the $108 million Series B values the company at $1 billion and was co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures, with a16z and First Round Capital among the existing investors taking part. The June 2026 launch came with a $55 million Series A.
