TODAY raises €2.8m seed for AI agents serving financial advisors
8 October 2026: TODAY, a start-up that builds AI agents for financial and insurance advisors, has raised a €2.8 million seed round co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Insurtech Gateway. SeedX, Lucid Capital and angel investors joined, among them former HDI chief executive Herbert Rogenhofer and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq.
Not yet independently verified. The usage and time-saving figures come from the company and have not been checked independently. The release gives the time saved as about five hours a week in its body and as up to five hours in its boilerplate. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The company is registered as UseToday ApS, works from Copenhagen and Berlin, and was founded in 2024. It describes its product as an operating system for financial distribution. The agents support an advisor before, during and after a client meeting: they transcribe the conversation, take over routine back-office work, coach the advisor on sales and answer incoming calls. TODAY calls them compliance-first.
The company says more than 3,500 advisers at insurers, distribution firms and brokerages in Germany, Austria and Switzerland use the platform. It claims they save about five hours a week, earn up to 10% more revenue and gain roughly 50 times more insight from client conversations on average. The fresh money is meant to grow the business across those three countries and to add more front-office and back-office automation.
The release ties the timing to pressure on advisors from pension reform, market consolidation and a heavier regulatory load, all of which push them to serve more clients with the same resources.
Chief executive Michael Gackstatter and chief technology officer Artem Demchenkov founded the company. Both previously held leadership roles at CLARK, Funding Circle and Billie, according to the release.
Investor comments are brief. Tizian Hoppen, senior investment manager at HTGF, says the vertical AI product will remove inefficiencies from advisors' daily work. Mathias Jaeggi, partner at SeedX, says the next wave of AI at insurers is about building intelligence into every advisor's daily processes rather than running experiments.
The announcement is dated 8 October 2026 and does not state a valuation.
