Comparables.ai raises $6m seed to widen its M&A search platform

6 October 2026: Comparables.ai, a Helsinki company that sells an AI platform for finding and analysing acquisition targets, has closed a $6 million seed round led by Pragmatech and Araya Ventures. Purple Ventures, Gorilla Capital, hi5 Ventures, Somersault Ventures and other investors, some of them unnamed, also took part.

Not yet independently verified. Single source: a paid press release distributed through a wire service. We found no matching post on the company's own blog, and the usage figures are the company's own. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The company says the money will go into rolling the product out in more markets and strengthening its core AI engine. Its users are corporate development teams, private equity firms, M&A advisors and investment banks.

Comparables.ai puts its reach at more than 50,000 professionals in over 30 countries, working from a dataset covering more than 370 million active companies. It also says a Big Four advisory firm is extending its deployment to more than ten countries. None of these figures has been audited or confirmed by a customer.

The release casts the product as an answer to poor visibility in mid-sized deals. Co-founder Martin Kangasniemi is quoted as saying "Mid-market M&A has always been a visibility problem". Pragmatech general partner Artem Yaremchuk points to "a strong customer base, including Big Fours" as what convinced his firm. Rupa Popat, founder and managing partner of Araya Ventures, says her firm is backing a team that is "supercharging dealmaking and M&A activity".

The company has raised money in small steps before. A €74,000 grant from the European Regional Development Fund arrived in late 2021, a $700,000 pre-seed round followed in January 2022, and Business Finland added €565,000 in May 2022, according to the company's own blog posts at the time. This seed round is the first announced since.

The founders are Niko Nalli, Markus Vesala and Martin Kangasniemi, who the company says come from M&A advisory and financial markets. Chief technology officer and co-founder Muhammad Ammad-ud-din holds a doctorate from Aalto University.

The release is dated 6 October in Helsinki and carries no information on valuation, runway or headcount.
