Plinto raises €2.9m to put AI agents on financial controls
20 October 2026: Plinto, a Copenhagen company building AI agents that review and correct financial transactions as they happen, has raised €2.9 million in pre-seed funding from People Ventures and Emblem. It says the money will speed up product development and take it into new markets.
Not yet independently verified. The founders are not named in the announcement, and the Peakon connection rests on the company's and its investor's statements. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The investors and the Peakon link
People Ventures is a Copenhagen early-stage fund that works with founders on finance, go-to-market and sales; Emblem is a European early-stage firm with people in Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm and London. Plinto's announcement does not name its founders, but Emblem's founder and general partner, Guillaume Durao, says they "all played key roles in building Peakon", the Copenhagen employee-feedback company that was his first Danish investment and that Workday bought for over $700 million. "They know firsthand how to turn complex, fragmented information into a continuous flow of insights," he said.
Magnus Stagsted, a partner at People Ventures, named the team as the first reason to invest and his own experience of trying to fix the problem as the second. He said the founders understand that "you have to go all the way out to where a transaction starts".
How the agents work
Plinto argues that controlling is moving from a single finance team to the whole business, with agents doing the coordination. Its agents connect to ERP systems for suppliers, orders, invoices and ledger entries, to banks for accounts and transactions, and to the documents, workflows and messaging tools where approvals happen. They verify each transaction against contracts and rules, fix what they can and ask a person when they cannot, covering order-to-cash and procure-to-pay.
The industry pages show what that means in practice: contract prices, purchase orders and inventory in manufacturing; carrier rates and surcharges in logistics; supplier terms and sales prices in retail; contract terms, VAT and capital spending in real estate; and rates, unbilled work and indexation in professional services. Plinto says the platform already "reviews and acts on thousands of transactions every day".
Where it sits
The pitch is continuous control rather than the month-end close, which puts Plinto between accounts-payable automation and the audit and close tools finance teams already run. Our accounting software category lists 9 products and our financial management software category 10. Plinto ApS is registered at Flæsketorvet in central Copenhagen, and its site is available in English, Danish and Swedish.
