TrustList summary

The P7 is the electric sports sedan for drivers who want a low, sleek four-door with plenty of connected features. XPeng describes it as keeping its signature X-BOT face, with a lowered bonnet, hidden door handles and a flattened underbody, and it is sold on the global site alongside the company's SUVs. It comes in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.

Battery and charging

The battery is 86.2 kWh. XPeng quotes a charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 29 minutes, and says the real time depends on temperature and the power supply used. The car also supports V2L, which lets the car power outside equipment. The XPENG App can lock and open the car, show battery status, control selected functions and remotely summon the car out of a tight parking space.

Inside and on the road

The cabin has five sports seats, with heating and ventilation in the two front seats, and a choice of Nappa leather or leatherette. The XOPERA media system, an electric tailgate, a heated multifunction steering wheel, wireless phone charging and speakers built into the driver's headrest are listed, along with four USB ports and a 12V socket. A panoramic sunroof and a low-drag shape are part of the design. Brembo brakes are fitted, and the all-wheel-drive version is the one XPeng offers for a quicker start.

Driver assistance and software

XPILOT ASSIST supports driving, parking and safety functions with five millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors, four surround-view cameras and seven high-perception cameras. XPeng states that the system requires the XPILOT ASSIST software and upgrade services to be purchased, is not fully autonomous and leaves the driver responsible. Over-the-air updates improve the Xmart OS interface, XPILOT ASSIST and general driving behaviour over time.

Colours

The paint choices are Arctic White, Jet Black, Space Grey, Silver Frost and Kaitoke Green, and the P7 Wing Edition is also offered.
