The X9 is the electric people carrier for large families. XPeng calls it an ultra intelligent seven-seater, and its coupe-style MPV shape is aimed at low drag. It has a flat, step-free floor throughout the cabin and a third row that can be stowed with one touch.
XPeng quotes up to 615 km of WLTP range and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds in the all-wheel-drive version, both from its own testing. A full 800V silicon carbide platform supports a charge from 10 to 80 percent in 12 minutes, and the 5C battery has thermal and collision protection.
With the third row folded flat, load space grows to 2,554 L. A submerged trunk fits seven suitcases even with every seat occupied. The seats offer ventilation, heating and massage, the zero-gravity seats support 14-way adjustment, and the rear lounge has a 21.4 inch entertainment screen, a refrigerator that cools and heats, and a 27-speaker HiFi system. A silent-breeze air conditioning system with more than 6,000 micro-vents keeps airflow at or below 1 m/s.
Active rear-wheel steering helps the long body through narrow roads and bends. Dual-chamber air suspension has speed-adaptive ride height with six manual levels, and the chassis detects obstacles up to 30 m ahead to pre-adjust damping. The cockpit has a 17.3 inch central screen, six-zone voice control that also works offline, and a streaming rear-view mirror.
XPILOT ASSIST is powered by the XP5 Turing chip and includes an advanced driver assistance system, an intelligent parking system and reversing assist, with ACC, ATC, LCC and ALC driving functions. Nine airbags come as standard and the body has a 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength safety cage. The XPENG App is available for iOS and Android.
