TrustList summary

The G9 is the electric SUV for families who want a large, calm cabin with serious pace behind it. XPeng calls it a flagship intelligent SUV, and the global site shows it as the New G9, with a fastback roofline, flush handles, frameless coupe-style doors and a hands-free tailgate that opens with a foot movement.

Range, power and charging

XPeng quotes up to 585 km of WLTP range. The peak output is 423 kW with 695 N.m of torque, and the all-wheel-drive car does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Braking from 100 km/h to a stop takes 33.9 m in XPeng's own testing. An 800V silicon carbide platform and a 5C battery are used, and XPeng says the battery goes from 10 to 80 percent in 12 minutes. Triple-layer shielding protects the battery against impact, fire and thermal events.

Comfort and space

The front seats are Nappa leather with 12-way power adjustment, memory, heating, ventilation and a 10-point massage system, made to OEKO-TEX baby-safe standards. The second-row seats recline electrically from 27 to 37 degrees and add heating, ventilation and massage. Dual 14.96 inch 2.4K floating displays run the cockpit, and voice control works across several zones, including the rear seats. The car has intelligent dual-chamber air suspension with adaptive ride height and damping, and a frame that combines steel and aluminium.

Driver assistance and software

XPILOT ASSIST uses a front binocular camera and a rearview camera, recognises 49 types of obstacle and sits alongside 14 active safety functions. Software updates arrive over Wi-Fi or 4G and can be scheduled for a later time, and the XPENG App is available on the main phone app stores.
