Accenture says the purchase strengthens its software engineering, digital engineering and embedded software development capabilities in Denmark and expands its presence across the country. Mjølner, founded in 1988, delivers end-to-end digital solutions with deep experience in energy and utilities and in manufacturing, and serves clients in western Denmark. It is headquartered in Aarhus and has offices in Silkeborg, Fredericia, Copenhagen and Madrid.

“Mjølner brings deep expertise in developing complex, business-critical software solutions,” said Carsten Sachmann, Country Managing Director of Accenture Denmark. He said the combined team will be better placed to help clients turn technology opportunities into practical solutions.

The deal also changes the relationship between Accenture and Norlys. Under what the release calls an expanded collaboration, Accenture will continue to deliver digital development and IT services supporting Norlys' technology transformation. The release does not say how many of Mjølner's staff worked on Norlys projects, or whether existing Mjølner customers will see changes to contracts or support arrangements.

Accenture describes itself as employing approximately 814,000 people and says it served approximately 9,000 clients and generated about $74bn in revenue in its 2026 financial year. The announcement was datelined Copenhagen.
