1 October 2026: Falcon AI, a Ghent legal-tech company, has raised €1.5 million in pre-seed funding to build what it calls Europe's first AI-native law firm. Its software makes the first review of a contract and a qualified lawyer at the linked firm, Falcon Law, signs off on every one the same day.

Syndicate One led the round, with Stelena Capital, Greenpark Investment Partners, RDY Ventures and France's Source Ventures taking part. Wim Dejonghe, formerly global senior partner of Allen & Overy, joins as an adviser. The company says it is one of the largest pre-seed rounds closed by a Belgian legal-tech start-up.

The four founders are Quinten Vandermeulen, David Nguyen, Amaury Gérard and Rémy Bonnaffé. Three of them spent six years building Mbrella, which they sold to the Belgian group D'Ieteren at the end of last year. Bonnaffé, a former Freshfields lawyer, founded Falcon Law and runs it as sole partner.

Each client starts with a 45-minute intake call, which becomes a written playbook of its risk appetite. A customer then drops a contract into Slack or Microsoft Teams, and the platform checks it against that playbook, returns a plain-language summary with flagged risks and proposed edits, and passes it to a named lawyer. The launch covers commercial contracts such as NDAs, DPAs, MSAs and customer and vendor agreements.

Pricing is a flat monthly membership, with three published plans from €1,000 a month for up to six reviews to €5,000 a month for high-volume teams. The company compares that with in-house counsel at about €100,000 a year fully loaded. Loop Earplugs has moved from testing to a paying contract, and Falcon says it is aiming for €1 million in annual recurring revenue within its first year.

"We are not a co-pilot that helps a lawyer go faster," said Vandermeulen, co-founder and chief product officer. "We are an autopilot that feels like an extra legal colleague in your team." Gérard, the chief executive, said the founders built the platform after tiring of paying €4,000 and waiting three weeks for a contract.

The money will go on scaling the platform. Falcon AI was founded in 2026.
