Hadrian raises $40m Series B for AI-driven penetration testing

6 October 2026: Hadrian, an Amsterdam company that sells an agentic offensive-security platform, has raised a $40 million Series B. Forgepoint Capital International and Smartfin co-led the round, with HV Capital, Motive Partners, Picus Capital and Oetker Ventures taking part. Total funding is now $65 million.

Not yet independently verified. The performance figures and customer names are the company's own and are not independently confirmed. The company's release does not state a founding year. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The company says it will use the money to expand across EMEA and the US and to put more into engineering and research. Hadrian's platform is built to find, validate and help fix security weaknesses that an attacker could actually exploit. It has two products: Atlas, which continuously maps an organisation's external attack surface as part of exposure management, and Nova, which runs penetration tests on demand using AI agents that follow the paths a real attacker would take.

Hadrian says its customers have seen 10 times more visibility of critical exposures, results 80% faster and a return five times higher than from manual penetration testing. It names McKesson, NBCUniversal, Francisco Partners, TotalEnergies, Amadeus, Leroy Merlin and Damen Shipyard among its clients, and says it targets large enterprise security teams.

The company was founded by Rogier Fischer, Olivier Beg and Maurice Clin. Fischer, the chief executive, said that most people automating security work are focused on the wrong parts of it.

Fischer said "we know that AI can work much faster than any human offensive security team". He added that Hadrian built a platform that emulates hackers' attack paths so customers can understand their key risks and prioritise their security resources.

Damien Henault of Forgepoint said Hadrian's growing enterprise contract values and retention rates show the strength of the product against the largest incumbents. Saumitra Dubey of Smartfin said the investors back the company's ambition to build a nine-figure revenue business. Forgepoint describes itself as a cybersecurity-focused venture firm with more than $1.2 billion under management, and Smartfin as a Brussels-based firm managing over €600 million in commitments.
