About Audi A6 e-tron

What the A6 e-tron is

The Audi A6 e-tron is a battery-electric upper mid-size car sold as a Sportback and as an Avant estate. Audi announced it in a media release dated 31 July 2024, with orders opening in September 2024. The range at launch had two rear-wheel-drive performance versions with 270 kW, and two quattro S6 versions with 370 kW, or 405 kW with Launch Control. A version with a smaller battery was said to follow later.

Battery, range and charging

All launch versions use a 100 kWh gross battery, which is 94.9 kWh net. Audi quotes WLTP ranges of up to 756 km for the A6 Sportback, 720 km for the A6 Avant, 675 km for the S6 Sportback and 647 km for the S6 Avant. Direct-current charging reaches up to 270 kW at high-power stations, and charging from 10 to 80 percent takes 21 minutes. Audi assembles the battery for these platform models in Ingolstadt.

Software and assistance

Standard equipment includes the new adaptive driving assistant plus, park assist plus, a reversing camera, a traffic sign based speed limiter, camera based traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and a distraction and drowsiness warning. Audi states that software updates are delivered over the air. The infotainment runs Android Automotive OS, and third-party apps can be installed through the Audi Application Store, which works inside the car without a smartphone.
