Mahindra XEV 9S

Overview

The XEV 9S is a battery-electric SUV in Mahindra's electric range and the only model on its site offered with six or seven seats. It sits alongside the BE 6 and XEV 9e and is sold in India.

Battery and range

The FAQ lists three battery sizes for the XEV 9S, each with a certified MIDC range. The 59 kWh pack is rated at 521 km, the 70 kWh pack at 600 km and the 79 kWh pack at 679 km. Mahindra's own real-world estimates on the same page are over 400 km, over 450 km and over 500 km for the three packs.

Charging

The FAQ says DC fast charging of up to 180 kW takes the battery from 20 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes on all models. A portable 3.3 kW charger is included, and 7.2 kW and 11.2 kW wall chargers are optional. Public charging is available through partner networks, the Me4U app and Charge_iN.

Driver assistance

The XEV 9S has Level 2+ driver assistance with five radars and one camera. Features named on the page include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and 360-degree cameras.

Ownership terms

The XEV 9S starts at 21.40 lakh rupees ex-showroom, or 12.65 lakh rupees under the battery-as-a-service plan, which covers the vehicle without the pack and is for personal use only. The battery warranty is for life for the first private owner and 10 years or 200,000 km after that.
