iOS development covers applications for iPhone and iPad, and the work of getting them through App Store review and keeping them there. The platform is more uniform than Android — fewer devices, faster OS adoption — but the review process is a real project risk that inexperienced teams underestimate.

Ask who holds the developer account: if the agency does, your app lives in someone else's Apple relationship, and moving it later is administrative work you will not enjoy. Ask how rejections are handled, and whether the quote includes the rounds of resubmission that most non-trivial apps need. Ask what happens each September, when a new iOS version arrives and something in your app stops behaving.
