XRlabs is a London surgical AI company, founded by a neurosurgeon, whose software turns scans into 3D digital twins and ties operating room devices together in one anatomy-aware view.
XRlabs Ltd is a London company that builds what it calls Surgical Intelligence, an AI software layer meant to work with the devices already present in an operating theatre. It was founded in 2024 by Dr Ali Haddad, a neurosurgeon, who is its chief executive. The company announced an $8.4 million seed round on 19 October 2026. It also has an office in Palo Alto, California.
The company describes two products. XRlabs SIM converts standard CT and MRI scans into interactive 3D digital twins that are viewed in extended reality. The site presents it for visualisation, planning, rehearsal, patient consent and surgical teaching, and says it has been used in more than 100 cases in the NHS and on three continents.
SurgicalOS brings the digital twin into the operative view by combining live scope video, navigation and intraoperative imaging. The output can appear on the scope's own monitor or on an XR headset. Capabilities the site lists include real-time 3D overlays, instrument tracking, scope automation, voice commands and automated operative notes, and it says several of these are still in development and under clinical evaluation. The company reports that in December 2025 SurgicalOS was used in a live operating room for the first time, in complex cranial neurosurgery, with surgeons supervising.
XRlabs sells to hospitals and also to medical device makers. For manufacturers it offers an intelligence layer that can sit on compatible scopes, navigation systems, imaging and robotic platforms through partner integrations, without hardware changes, leaving the partner with the customer relationship. The site describes work with NHS trusts, in the United States and in the Middle East, and says it works with academic medical centres under research governance. It states that SurgicalOS is in development and not commercially available, and that regulatory status varies by country.
The team listed on the site includes clinicians, engineers, AI researchers and regulatory specialists. Its US subsidiary is Saena Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Palo Alto. The seed round was led by Playground Global with Eka Ventures, according to the announcement, and Omar Ishrak is chair.
