Leapmotor B10

What it is

The B10 is a compact SUV in Leapmotor's range, covered here in its battery-electric form. Leapmotor lists a hybrid version on a separate page, but the electric car is the subject of this entry. It is 4.51 metres long, with a 430 litre boot that grows to 1,700 litres when the rear seats fold, plus a 25 litre front storage space under the bonnet.

Battery and charging

Two battery-electric versions are offered. The Pro carries a 56.2 kWh battery and a WLTP range of 361 km, while the ProMax carries a 67.1 kWh battery and reaches 434 km. Both are quoted at 218 hp and 8 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h. Leapmotor gives a 30 to 80 percent DC charge in 19 minutes, with a peak of 168 kW on the ProMax. The spec table shows 140 kW for the Pro while the FAQ says both versions reach 168 kW, so the Pro figure is left out here. Consumption is given as 17.2 to 17.3 kWh per 100 km.

Trims and driver assistance

The Life and Design trims differ mainly in comfort items: Design adds heated and ventilated seats, an electric tailgate and a 12 speaker audio system. Seventeen driver-assistance functions are listed, along with rear parking sensors and a 360 degree camera.

Software and ownership

The car runs LEAP OS 4.0 with over-the-air updates covering features, security patches and driver-assistance changes. The Leapmotor App acts as a Bluetooth digital key and handles remote locking, climate control and charging schedules. Leapmotor states a battery warranty of up to 8 years or 160,000 km.
