Sources in Vehicle factsThe EV3 is the smallest SUV in Kia's electric range, and it is built to do what most families ask of one car: the school run, the weekly shop and the occasional long motorway trip without planning the day around a charger. The long range version covers up to 375 miles on the WLTP cycle, a figure Kia measured on the Air trim.
There are two batteries. The 58.3 kWh Standard Range pack suits mostly local driving, and the 81.4 kWh Long Range pack is the one to choose for regular long trips. On a rapid charger that delivers at least 150 kW, Kia quotes about 31 minutes to go from 10 to 80 percent, roughly the time of a coffee stop. Plug&Charge works on selected public chargers, so the car starts charging without a card or an app.
The cabin is laid out around a wide panel of screens, and maps and infotainment software are updated over the air, with two free updates included. The Kia App lets you warm or cool the car and check the battery before you leave, and find charging points nearby. For motorway driving, Highway Driving Assist 2 holds speed, distance and lane together, and the car carries Kia's full set of collision-avoidance aids, including blind-spot and rear cross-traffic help, plus Remote Smart Parking Assist for tight spaces.
Six UK trims run from Air SR to the sporty GT, through Air, GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT-Line S HP. Prices start at £31,555 for the Air SR, a figure that already includes the £1,500 Electric Car Grant. Euro NCAP gave the EV3 four stars in 2025.
Kia covers the car for seven years or 100,000 miles. The battery is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles on cars registered from 1 January 2024, with a guarantee that it keeps at least 70 percent of its capacity.
