Intuit agrees to buy Sequence to bring usage billing to QuickBooks
15 October 2026: Intuit has signed an agreement to acquire Sequence, a London and New York company whose software automates the path from a signed quote to recognised revenue. Intuit says the deal will give Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced the ability to price, bill and collect on revenue tied to consumption, usage, seats and milestones, and open industries such as B2B software and professional services that it has struggled to serve. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Not yet independently verified. Neither company states a price, an expected closing date or the approvals needed; the deal had been signed but not closed when announced. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
What Sequence does
Founded in 2021, Sequence sells an AI-native revenue management platform to finance teams at fast-growing software and services companies. It covers deal configuration and pricing, billing, invoicing, collections and revenue recognition. Its site describes sales teams building quotes in a document editor with pricing rules applied as they type, an agent that maps the terms of a signed contract to the product catalogue and flags anything non-standard, real-time metering of usage events into billable amounts, and an agent that drafts payment reminders and reconciles payments, with a person approving.
Sequence is a Series A company, Intuit says, and handles revenue automation for some of the fastest-growing AI companies. Its co-founder and chief executive, Riya Grover, joins Intuit's mid-market product organisation with the team.
Why Intuit wants usage billing
"As businesses grow, pricing, billing, and collecting on complex usage-based and milestone-based revenue becomes one of the biggest reasons they choose an ERP," said Ashley Still, executive vice president and general manager of Intuit's Small Business and Mid-Market Group. Intuit Enterprise Suite is its answer to that move, and contract billing is the gap Sequence fills.
Grover called revenue management "the most fragmented workflow in the back office" and said the two companies shared a focus on mid-market businesses and AI-driven financial workflows.
What existing Sequence customers can expect
Intuit says it will continue to support Sequence's customers and make its capabilities available after the deal closes, and will build an integrated offering "in the coming months". It gives no closing date. Sequence's home page now carries a notice of the agreement. A Sequence customer that does not use QuickBooks has no stated end date for its contract to plan around, but a roadmap folded into Intuit's suite is the obvious direction; data export and the contract's change-of-control terms are worth reading before renewal.
We list Intuit and QuickBooks. Our revenue management software category lists 22 products and our recurring billing software category 12; Sequence is not yet among them.
