Sequence, a London and New York company founded in 2021, sells software that runs quoting, usage billing, receivables and revenue recognition, and Intuit agreed to acquire it on 15 October 2026.
Sequence is a software company that automates the revenue side of a business, from the first sales quote to the invoice, the payment and the accounting entry. It is based in London and New York and was founded in 2021. On 15 October 2026 Intuit announced it had signed an agreement to acquire the company, for undisclosed terms, with the product meant to extend to QuickBooks and Intuit Enterprise Suite customers.
The platform covers several linked jobs. Sales teams build quotes in a document-style editor with pricing rules applied. The billing engine handles usage, seat, hybrid and minimum-commit pricing, with credits, proration and contract amendments. A metering layer turns raw usage events into billable figures and rolls them into invoices, which sync to accounting systems. Receivables tools cover payment reminders, customer queries and reconciliation, and a revenue recognition module keeps a sub-ledger for ASC 606 and IFRS 15 reporting. Software agents draft actions such as contract intake or reminders, and a review queue called Watchtower lets staff approve or reject them. Sequence says the billing engine, not the AI, calculates invoices. It also offers an MCP connection so assistants can query invoices and billing runs.
The company says it serves businesses from seed-stage startups to public companies, with a focus on technology and fintech firms whose pricing is usage-based or complex. Its customer stories name incident.io, Bridge, Arch, Attention, Primer, Kombo, Kapa and Topsort. It integrates with NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks and Salesforce, and lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 among its security credentials.
