Atomic Software raises ¥600m Series C from SBC Medical Group
2 November 2026: Atomic Software, the Tokyo company behind the clinic software medicalforce, says it has raised 600 million yen in a Series C round from SBC Medical Group Holdings, under a capital and business alliance the two signed on 26 October. The money goes into a larger development team and new features for medicalforce, which the company says more than 800 clinics used as of September 2026.
Not yet independently verified. The round is announced only on Atomic Software's own news page; we found no matching release from SBC Medical Group Holdings. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
An investor that already runs the software
SBC Medical Group Holdings, based in Irvine, California, provides management services to a network of 287 clinics in Japan and abroad, by its count at the end of July. One of those, the Hada no Aozora Clinic chain, already runs medicalforce as its core system and for payments, and Atomic Software says that track record is what led to the investment. The two companies have agreed to develop features together: new functions will be trialled early in SBC-supported clinics, and the results will feed both medicalforce and SBC's own systems. No other investor is named.
"AIの実用化が進み、クリニック向けソフトウェアに求められる水準は年々高まっています," says chief executive Shoichi Hatanaka: as AI is put to practical use, the standard expected of clinic software rises every year. SBC's chief executive Yoshiyuki Aikawa says AI only shows its value once it is built into systems used every day in clinics.
From bookings and charts to AI notes
medicalforce launched in March 2021 as an all-in-one system for clinics, recording bookings, medical charts and payments in one place, and has since added CRM, advertising measurement and business analysis. It is used by both self-pay and insurance clinics, and the company reports a 99.2% retention rate as of March 2026.
Its AI features sit under the name medicalforce intelligence. An AI voice chart, which drafts records from conversations during consultations, went into early release in May; the company estimates that clinics using it heavily save up to 36 hours of record-keeping a month. An AI chart summary and AI-drafted follow-up messages to patients after treatment followed in August. The company also sells a management system for security firms, Keibi Force.
Third round in four years
Atomic Software was founded in November 2020 as Medicalforce and changed its name on 6 February 2026. Its earlier rounds were a ¥600 million Series A in 2022, with ALL STAR SAAS FUND and ANRI, and a ¥1.5 billion Series B in February 2024. The company is based in Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa, Tokyo, and says both of its representative directors are engineers by background.
