Turso Database is an in-process SQL database written in Rust that is SQLite-compatible and has a Postgres front end. libSQL is Turso's earlier SQLite fork, with embedded replicas. Both are released under the MIT licence. Turso describes Turso Database as the intended direction that replaces libSQL, and says the project is production-ready but still before version 1.0. The software can run embedded in a process, and Turso Cloud hosts databases as a managed service. Published Turso Cloud pricing has a Free plan at nothing, covering 100 databases and 5 GB. The Developer plan costs 4.99 dollars a month, Scaler 24.92 dollars a month and Pro 416.58 dollars a month, and Enterprise pricing is custom. Buyers should note the pre-1.0 status when judging how stable the interfaces and file formats will be, and should follow the project's releases page for guidance on the move from libSQL.
