Progress Software now owns the Domo platform; the former Domo company becomes Huckleberry.ai

22 September 2026 — Progress Software completed its purchase of the AI and data platform business of Domo, the cloud business-intelligence and dashboard vendor, on 22 September 2026. Both companies announced the completion the same day. The deal was first announced on 22 July, when Progress said it expected it to close by the end of its financial year on 30 November, so it has closed about two months early.

What moved, and what did not

The deal is an asset sale, not a merger. Progress bought substantially all of Domo's assets and employees and took on certain liabilities; Utah Business, reporting on the terms in August, described the transfer as covering the platform, the staff and the customer contracts. Progress says the purchase brings it more than 2,400 business customers, and that the Domo platform will become part of its existing data platform offerings. Neither party has said whether the Domo product name will continue.

The company that sold the business, Domo, Inc., has not been wound up. It kept its tax losses and some other assets, renamed itself Huckleberry.ai, Inc., and began trading on Nasdaq under the symbol HUCK from 24 September. Its founder, Josh James, continues to lead it. It no longer runs the Domo product.

Both parties stated the price as $400 million in cash. Progress says it paid with cash and its existing revolving credit facility.

Who is affected

Every organisation with a Domo subscription, and the agencies and consultancies that build dashboards on it. The practical change is that the supplier on the other side of the contract is now a different company. That matters for data-protection paperwork, invoices and renewals, even if the product itself looks the same on Monday. Progress already sells data and application-development products, so larger customers may find themselves offered bundles with other Progress products at renewal.

What to do

• Check who your Domo contract, data processing agreement and invoices now name as the supplier, and ask Progress for written confirmation of the entity, its address and its contact for data-protection matters.
• Ask for the current list of sub-processors and hosting locations, and whether either is expected to change as the platform is folded into Progress's products.
• Note your renewal date. A change of owner is a normal point to ask for a price hold, a product roadmap in writing, and the terms for exporting your data and dashboards if you leave.
• Do not send support, billing or security correspondence to the renamed Huckleberry.ai; it no longer operates the product.
• If an agency built your Domo reporting, ask whether its partner agreement has moved to Progress and on what terms.
