Nonprofits can now combine Copilot promotions with nonprofit pricing until 31 December

24 September 2026 — Microsoft has changed the rules for nonprofits buying Microsoft 365 Copilot through its Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme, the route by which most smaller organisations buy through a reseller. From 24 September 2026, eligible nonprofits can combine a commercial promotion with the existing nonprofit discount on the Copilot product, rather than having to choose one or the other.

What changes

  • Commercial promotional offers of 15%, 20%, 30% or 40% can now be stacked on top of the existing 15% nonprofit promotional offer for the Microsoft 365 Copilot SKU.
  • Before this change a nonprofit could take nonprofit pricing or a commercial promotion, but not both.
  • The stacked promotions are available until 31 December 2026.
  • Partners must check the customer's eligibility, the base product, the pricing type and the promotion ID before placing the order.

This is separate from the commercial E5, E7 and Copilot CSP promotions that end on 30 September, which we reported on 24 September.

Who is affected

Charities and other nonprofits that are eligible for Microsoft's nonprofit offers and buy through a CSP partner, and the partners that serve them. Organisations that buy directly from Microsoft, or through enterprise agreements, are not covered by this announcement.

What to do

  • If you are considering Copilot, ask your CSP partner for a quote that combines both discounts, and ask which promotion ID and base product it uses, so you can check the quote.
  • Compare the stacked price with what you pay today and with the licence you would actually need; a discount on a product you would not otherwise buy is not a saving.
  • The offer ends on 31 December, so a purchase planned for early next year may cost more if it waits.
  • Check the promotion's terms for how long the discounted price lasts after purchase, which the announcement does not state.
