Mobileye will supply cloud-mapped driver assist to Stellantis from 2027

21 July 2026: Mobileye will supply its Cloud-Enhanced Advanced Driver Assist system for select future Stellantis vehicles expected in 2027, with the first planned applications in select US models. The system adds lane keeping on roads with no markings and hands-free, eyes-on driving in designated areas and conditions.

What the Stellantis cars will do

Two functions are named. The first is intelligent lane keeping on unmarked roads, a case where a camera-only assistant normally has nothing to follow. The second is hands-free, eyes-on driving: the driver may take their hands off the wheel in designated areas and conditions, but must keep watching the road. Mobileye says Stellantis is adding its Road Experience Management technology, known as REM, to increase hands-free driving availability and performance.

How far the system is rolled out beyond the first applications depends on the platform and configuration of each vehicle.

A map made by the cars themselves

The hardware is Mobileye's EyeQ6L chip, and the map it reads is REM. Mobileye says REM covers more than 95% of public roads in the US and Europe, from highways to dense urban areas, and that coverage is growing in key markets in Asia, North America and South America.

The front-facing camera on vehicles fitted with EyeQ chips picks out features such as curbs, crosswalk locations and the typical paths drivers take. That data is anonymised and sent to the cloud, where it is processed into an intelligence layer that supports driver assistance and automated driving. The layer sends back insights on signals, lanes, average comfort speeds and other semantic features. Because the fleet is large, updates are frequent, and changes such as road construction can be reflected quickly.

How much data feeds the layer

Mobileye says five of the world's ten largest automakers contribute REM data. Last year the data came from more than 8 million vehicles covering 34 billion miles. An earlier Mobileye release, from January 2026, put the contributing fleet at more than 8 million vehicles across 18 automotive brands and 50 models, and said REM covers nearly all highway and arterial roads in the US and Europe and more than 90% of roads in key Asian markets.

Where the Stellantis system sits in Mobileye's range

Nimrod Nehushtan, Mobileye's executive vice president for business development and strategy, said: "We're proud to expand our work with Stellantis, bringing a new level of intelligence to the vehicle itself". He said cloud-enhanced driver assist "plays a core role in our lineup of advanced technologies" and described it as part of a vertically integrated package that runs from Surround ADAS through fully autonomous vehicles.

That range includes two systems built on the larger EyeQ6 High chip. In the January release a US automaker chose the EyeQ6H for hands-free highway driving; Mobileye describes a typical system as one forward-looking camera, four corner parking cameras and multiple radars, working up to 81 mph (130 kph). In February, Mahindra & Mahindra chose Mobileye's SuperVision, with 11 cameras and two EyeQ6H chips, and Surround ADAS, with five cameras and one EyeQ6H, for future models. Mobileye said its work with Mahindra began with EyeQ4M and EyeQ6L launches in India.

The company behind the chip

Mobileye was founded in 1999 and is listed on Nasdaq as MBLY. It says more than 230 million vehicles were built with EyeQ through 2025. It has been listed independently from Intel since 2022, and Intel keeps majority ownership.
