Scanntech raises $180m Series F for Latin American retail sales data
13 October 2026: Scanntech, which turns point-of-sale transactions from shops across Latin America into market data for retailers and consumer goods makers, says it has raised $180 million in a Series F round led by L Catterton. Partners Group joined later as co-lead through its growth equity strategy, and Bradesco and SPX also invested.
Not yet independently verified. The release reached us through PR Newswire; neither Scanntech's site nor its lead investors' sites carried a copy when read on 15 October. Scanntech says the deal is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The company was founded in Uruguay in 1992 and released the news from New York and São Paulo on 13 October. J.P. Morgan was its sole placement agent.
Data taken from the till
Scanntech connects directly to retailers' point-of-sale systems and collects every ticket each day, rather than surveying a sample of shops and scaling the result up. It says its ticket-level data covers "more than 80% of the retail sell-out" in the markets where it operates, and that it works with more than 600 manufacturers as well as retailers and distributors.
Clients use the data for pricing, promotions, assortment, inventory and supply chain decisions, from head-office strategy down to individual stores. The company operates in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Uruguay, among other countries in the region.
Investors new and old
L Catterton, which says it manages about $40 billion focused on consumer businesses, leads the round. Dirk Donath, a managing partner at L Catterton Latin America, said the platform "turns that data into practical intelligence that helps retailers and brands make smarter choices about what to develop, stock, price, and promote."
Partners Group's Tiago Andrade, head of private equity and growth equity in Latin America, pointed to its "differentiated live data capabilities". Bradesco, the Brazilian bank, plans to help through its financial services connections. Earlier backers Warburg Pincus, Hindiana, IFC and Endeavor keep their stakes.
What the money is for
Scanntech says the round will pay for more analytics and AI, a broader product range, and entry into new markets and consumer categories. Raúl Polakof, co-founder and chief executive, said: "We have built the most granular view of retail in Latin America, and we are only getting started." He runs the company with co-founders Benny Szylkowski and Soledad Fernandez.
The company has not said how the money divides between new shares and the purchase of existing stakes, or what valuation the round sets.
Our business intelligence software category lists eight products and our retail management systems category 21; Scanntech is the first vendor of shared point-of-sale panel data for Latin America we list.
