Latin America: funding calls and deadlines closing soon (week of 26 October 2026)

25 October 2026: Fourteen calls and standing programmes for Latin American technology companies are open, led by Brazil's R$100 million FINEP call for semiconductor products, which closes on 25 November, and two large Colombian research and innovation calls closing on 13 November. Each was read on its funder's own page or data feed today; amounts and deadlines are given as the funder states them.

Not yet independently verified. Each call was read on its funder's own page or data feed on 25 October, in Portuguese or Spanish. FINEP's semiconductor deadline comes from the call's record, which gives 17:00 without a time zone, and per-project ceilings for several calls sit in regulations we did not read. Chile's CORFO and Peru's ProInnóvate lists could not be read this week. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

Brazil

Finep Mais Inovação Brasil, Round 2, Semiconductors grants economic subsidy to companies of any size, start-ups and cooperatives developing innovative semiconductor and electronics products or processes, from a call budget of R$100,000,000. The call's record gives a deadline of 17:00 on 25 November 2026. FINEP is also taking the Brazilian part of Eureka disaster resilience projects until 6 November, open only to consortia that already hold the Eureka label, in fields including AI, remote sensing and emergency communications.

FAPESP PIPE, Educational Technologies is for small companies in São Paulo state: up to R$500,000 per project over 12 months, from up to R$25 million in total. "Data limite para submissão da pré-proposta: 12/11/2026", with full proposals due on 13 January 2027. FAPESP's standard PIPE research grants for small businesses accept proposals at any time of year.

FAPEMIG's HUBMG GOV call in Minas Gerais funds companies, cooperatives, start-ups and research bodies that solve challenges set by the state government through open innovation: up to R$2 million for a technology development project and R$1 million for research or methods, with a 10% counterpart, from R$20 million. Proposals close on 9 December 2026. In Santa Catarina, FAPESC gives grants on a rolling basis until 30 June 2028 to companies based in the state that join Horizon Europe projects.

Colombia

Minciencias opened two calls on 23 October funded from royalties through the General Royalties System (SGR), both closing on Friday 13 November 2026 at 4:00 pm. Call 54, a bank of regional projects worth COP 927,591,817,322 split across six regions, has a line on smart territories covering AI, connectivity, data and digital infrastructure. Call 55, for national macro-projects, sets an indicative COP 500 billion for about ten projects of up to COP 50 billion each. Companies take part as members of alliances led with universities and local authorities rather than as sole applicants.

Uruguay and Argentina

Uruguay's ANII keeps several company programmes open until funds run out:

  • Implementación de la Innovación: up to 70% of a project's recognised cost, capped at UYU 4,000,000 over up to 18 months.
  • Herramientas para la Innovación: support to hire specialists, validate technology ideas and buy expert advice.
  • Fondo Orestes Fiandra: credit for mid-sized innovative companies, on permanent application.
  • SiGa Innovación: a guarantee on bank credit for innovation projects by small and medium companies with three or more years of trading, open until 31 December 2026 at 14:00.

Argentina's Economía del Conocimiento con aplicación de IA (Agencia I+D+i, with an IDB loan) funds consortia that include at least one national knowledge-economy company with up to USD 500,000 in non-repayable support per project, covering up to 80% of its cost. It works as an open window with periodic evaluation rounds, and its page gives no calendar date for the current one.

Regional

IDB Lab invests in early-stage companies across Latin America and the Caribbean on market terms, from seed tickets of US$200,000 to US$500,000 up to Series A and B tickets of US$1 million to US$3 million, and keeps an open call for venture capital funds. It has no deadline.

Chile's CORFO and Start-Up Chile, Peru's ProInnóvate and Brazil's InovAtiva, whose site was paused for the electoral period until 25 October, could not be confirmed as open this week and will be checked for the next edition. Other regions: Europe, UK, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East and Africa.
