Querio launches with $5m to put analytics logic in a Git repo

27 October 2026: Querio, a London analytics start-up, says it has raised $5 million and launched its product, which keeps a company's metrics and analytics logic in a Git repository the data team owns. Its investors are BMW i Ventures, LAUNCH, Haatch Ventures, Araya, Forum Ventures and Secways, plus angels from OpenAI, Slack, Robinhood and Google.

Not yet independently verified. Querio does not name a lead investor or the stage of the round, and gives no customer count or founding year. Its London base comes from Tech.eu and the company's UK registration in its site footer. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The company was founded by Rami Abi Habib, its chief executive, and Javier Bonilla, its chief technology officer. It describes the aim, with some bravado, as raising money "to kill the modern data stack".

One source of truth that people and agents share

Querio's idea is that the definitions behind a company's numbers, such as what counts as revenue or an active customer, should live as code in one repository, and that every AI tool in the company should answer from it. In its launch post the founders say analytics logic "lives in a GitHub repo the data team owns, and every AI tool in the company answers from it".

Around that repository it offers notebooks, dashboards and reports, embedded analytics, and developer access through MCP, Slack, a command line and an API, so that AI agents and people query the same definitions. Customers named on its pages include OpenVPN and agree.com.

A free way out of the incumbents

Alongside the launch, Querio released unshackle, a free, open-source tool that moves metrics, dashboards and permissions from Tableau, Looker or Power BI into a Git repo. The company says it writes to open standards and works whether or not the user ever adopts Querio.

That is a deliberate lowering of switching costs, which are usually what keeps a business intelligence tool in place. It also gives a data team a version-controlled copy of its metric definitions even if it stays with its current tool.

What the announcement leaves out

The posts do not say who led the round, what stage it is, or how many customers Querio has. Tech.eu, which reported the round the same day, describes it as a London-based start-up.

For buyers, the useful test is portability: whether the metrics Querio stores can be read by other tools without it, which the open-standards claim suggests. Our catalogue lists 8 products in business intelligence software and 10 in embedded analytics software.
