Rayon raises 10 million euro Series A led by Partech for AI and 3D interior design software

29 September 2026 — Rayon, a browser-based drawing and design tool for interior designers, has announced a 10 million euro Series A round led by Partech. Northzone, Foundamental and Seedcamp, who backed the company earlier, are continuing investors, according to the company and to Partech's own post.

Not yet independently verified. Rayon's own blog page and Partech's page were both read; the blog page appeared to carry an earlier date (23 September) than Partech's 29 September, so the announcement date is taken from the investor post and should be checked. Total-funding and valuation figures reported elsewhere are not used. Headquarters (Paris) comes from press coverage, not the company page. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The round

Rayon states the round as a 10 million euro Series A. Partech led it. The company names Northzone, Foundamental and Seedcamp as continuing investors. Partech's general partner is quoted in the investor post saying that interior design has been underserved by software for decades. Rayon says the money will go towards three things: launching 3D, building AI into the drawing experience, and scaling its go-to-market effort. Press coverage puts the company's total funding at nearly 16 million euro, but that figure is not stated on the pages TrustList read and is not relied on here.

What the company does

Rayon sells a collaborative drawing environment that runs in the browser. Plans, styling, specifications and schedules sit in one shared workspace, aimed at designers of restaurants, hotels, shops and workplaces rather than architects or engineers. The company says more than four million drawings have been created on the platform and that it has a team of about 35 people. It describes its next major version as bringing 3D, broader AI tools and a mobile-first way to view projects, and the announcement was accompanied by a presentation mode for sharing drawings with clients and a larger template library.

Why it matters for buyers

Design studios and fit-out contractors that still rely on desktop CAD licences are the natural audience. A funded browser-based alternative gives them a second option for drawing, specification and client review, and it suggests that AI features in design tools will increasingly arrive as part of the drawing product itself rather than as separate add-ons. Because the 3D and AI features are described as upcoming, buyers should treat them as roadmap items until they ship.

What to check

  • Which features are available today and which belong to the next major version. The funding announcement describes the second group in future terms.
  • Import and export formats. Studios that exchange files with architects and contractors need to know how drawings move in and out of other CAD tools.
  • Where drawings are stored and how access is controlled, particularly for client projects under confidentiality terms.
  • Pricing and seat terms after the round. The announcement does not mention any change to either.
  • How AI-generated output is labelled and whether a designer can inspect and override it. Rayon describes the designer as staying in control, but the practical controls are worth testing in a trial.
  • Support and onboarding for teams moving from desktop software, including whether templates can be adapted to a studio's own standards.

A funding round says nothing on its own about product quality. Buyers comparing design tools should rely on a trial with real project files and on references from comparable studios.
