28 September 2026 — Complaion, a Milan company that helps smaller businesses get certified against security, quality and AI standards, is announcing a €13.5 million funding round, according to a post by its lead investor Italian Founders Fund (IFF) dated 28 September 2026. Tech.eu reported the round the same day.
Not yet independently verified. The amount and co-leads come from the lead investor's own post, which gives no stage; Complaion's own site carried no announcement when read. The other investors and the use of funds come from Tech.eu. Growth and automation figures are the company's and investor's own. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The round
IFF's post says the €13.5 million round is co-led by IFF and Eurazeo; it does not name a stage. Tech.eu lists other participants including Shapers, 2100 Ventures, Kfund, Sella Direct Ventures, Enzo Ventures, Vento, Ithaca, Eden Ventures and Vesper. According to Tech.eu, Complaion will use the money to expand its team, strengthen customer support, develop its platform and accelerate expansion in Europe, including an office in Madrid.
What the company does
Complaion combines an AI platform with certified lead auditors to take companies through certification against standards such as ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 42001 (AI management), ESG frameworks and the EU's NIS2 cybersecurity directive. The platform handles the documentation, evidence collection and gap analysis that usually consume consultants' time, while human auditors carry out the formal certification work. Press reports say it automates around 80% of manual compliance work and shortens certification up to five times; those are the company's figures. It was founded in 2024.
Why it matters for buyers
NIS2 has widened the number of European companies that must show formal security management, and many SMEs are now asked for ISO 27001 by their larger customers. Certification has traditionally meant months of consultant work. Tools that compress that process lower the cost, but buyers should be clear about what the certificate covers and who issues it.
What to check
- Which certification body issues the certificate, and whether it is accredited in your market.
- What the platform does and what remains your team's work.
- How evidence is collected from your systems, and what access the platform needs.
- Total cost including the audit, surveillance audits and recertification.
- Support in your language and country as the company expands.
