Parakeet Health raises a $10 million Series A led by Canvas Ventures for patient-access AI

1 October 2026 — Parakeet Health, a US healthcare software company, announced on 1 October 2026 an oversubscribed $10 million Series A to expand its AI platform for patient access, the calls, referrals and scheduling that decide whether a patient gets an appointment.

Not yet independently verified. Growth and customer figures (10x recurring revenue, six of the ten largest US dermatology groups) are the company's own. The outlet repeats the company's announcement. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The round

According to the company, the $10 million Series A was led by Canvas Ventures, with participation from Blank Space Ventures, StoryHouse Ventures and HMC INQ. The round brings Parakeet's total funding to $13 million. The company says it will use the money to expand a unified AI platform that covers every patient touchpoint.

What the company does

Parakeet's software handles inbound patient calls and outbound contact, processes referrals that arrive by fax, and books appointments through web scheduling, across voice, text message, e-mail, web and fax, and connects to practices' electronic health record and practice-management systems. The company says it serves six of the ten largest US dermatology groups and grew annual recurring revenue tenfold over the past year; those figures are its own.

Why it matters for buyers

Specialty medical groups lose patients and revenue when phones go unanswered and referrals sit in fax queues. AI agents that answer calls and process referrals are one of the fastest-growing uses of voice AI in healthcare, and investors are backing vendors with real deployments. For buyers, the questions are accuracy, safety when a call is clinical, and how well the system writes back into existing records.

What to check

  • Which EHR and practice-management systems it integrates with, and how bookings are written back.
  • How calls that raise clinical or urgent issues are escalated to staff.
  • HIPAA compliance, business associate agreements and where call recordings and transcripts are stored.
  • How resolution rates are measured, and whether you can audit them on your own data.
  • Pricing basis: per call, per booked appointment or per seat.
