Namespace raises 42 million dollar Series B led by Scale Venture Partners for developer infrastructure
5 October 2026 — Namespace, a company that provides infrastructure for building, testing and running software, has announced a 42 million dollar Series B round. Scale Venture Partners led the round, according to the company's own post.
Not yet independently verified. Headquarters is not stated on Namespace's own page; Tech.eu reports Zurich while the company page mentions a team location in Portugal, so the place is unconfirmed. Tech.eu's investor list differs slightly from the company's (the company names Susa Ventures). The revenue-growth and customer-count figures are the company's own claims, not independently checked. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The round
The company describes the round as a 42 million dollar Series B. Scale Venture Partners led. The company's post names NEA, 20VC, Essence, Burst Capital and Susa Ventures as other investors, together with angel investors including the chief executive of Datadog. It says the money will be used to accelerate product development and to expand its data centres. Tech.eu, which reported the round on the same day, describes it as arriving seven months after the Series A.
What the company does
Namespace offers developer infrastructure for coding, building and testing across Mac, Windows and Linux. Its products include remote development environments it calls Devboxes and a replacement for the hosted runners used by GitHub Actions, with integrations for tools such as Docker, Bazel, Turborepo and Nix. The company says revenue grew eightfold over the last twelve months and that more than one thousand companies use the service. It lists a range of software and AI companies as customers, and frames the product as an infrastructure layer for teams that increasingly run AI coding agents alongside human developers.
Why it matters for buyers
Continuous integration is a recurring cost and a frequent bottleneck for engineering teams. A vendor that is funding its own data-centre capacity is signalling that it intends to run more of the compute itself rather than resell a hyperscaler. For buyers this can mean faster, more predictable build times, but it also concentrates risk in a smaller supplier. The round also shows continued investor interest in tooling for AI-assisted development.
What to check
- Where builds run and which data-centre regions are available, especially for teams with data-residency obligations.
- How source code and secrets are isolated between customers on shared runners.
- Pricing model for compute minutes and storage, and whether the funding changes it. The announcement does not mention any price change.
- Compatibility with the existing pipeline definitions and caching set-up, and the effort needed to move from current runners.
- Uptime history and the support response for production build failures.
- Exit options: how easily a team can move workloads back to standard hosted runners if needed.
The revenue and customer figures are the company's own statements. A proof-of-concept on a real repository is the most reliable way to compare build times and cost.
