Kuro raises 10 million euro round led by UVC Partners for AI platform used by general contractors
30 September 2026 — Kuro Technology, a Berlin software company that builds AI tools for general contractors, has announced a 10 million euro funding round led by the venture firm UVC Partners. UVC Partners published its announcement on 30 September 2026, and Kuro's own website now carries a banner for the round. Foundamental, Realyze Ventures and helloworld also took part.
Not yet independently verified. The round is described as a "funding round" by both the company and the lead investor; neither names a stage (Series A/seed). The amount (10 million euro) is as stated by UVC Partners and Kuro. Customer-saving figures (90 hours per bid, 70 per cent of users) are the lead investor's claims, not independently verified. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The round
- Amount: 10 million euro, as stated by UVC Partners and Kuro. Neither names a funding stage.
- Lead investor: UVC Partners.
- Other named investors: Foundamental, Realyze Ventures and helloworld.
- Use of the money: UVC Partners says Kuro is widening its platform step by step across the whole back office, beyond estimating. EU-Startups, reporting the announcement, adds that the company plans to build out the platform so it learns from every project.
What the company does
Kuro sells software to general contractors, the firms that sit at the centre of a building project and handle sales, estimating, procurement and site management. According to UVC Partners, the platform reads project documents, links them into one data model, and applies a customer-specific rulebook covering building components, review criteria and work packages. It flags contradictions between drawings and specifications, assesses risk, enriches components in 3D models, processes public tenders and evaluates subcontractor bids. Corrections an estimator makes are stored in the rulebook so they apply to the next project.
UVC Partners names Goldbeck, Köster, Implenia, Geiger and Riedel among the customers and says six of the twelve existing customers are among the 20 largest general contractors in the German-speaking region.
Why it matters for buyers
Construction firms evaluating document-heavy AI tooling now have a funded, specialist supplier in the German-speaking market. The investor reports that customers save around 90 hours per bid and that 70 per cent of users say the tool surfaced information they would otherwise have missed. These are investor-reported figures, but they give buyers concrete measures to test in a pilot. Extension into procurement, accounting and compliance is described as planned, so those modules should be treated as roadmap rather than shipped product.
What to check
- Ask for the current module list: which functions are live today (estimating, tender processing) and which are still planned.
- Test the savings claim on your own bids, using a recent project with known document contradictions.
- Ask where customer documents are processed and stored, and what the data-processing agreement says about using your corrections in a shared model.
- Ask how the customer-specific rulebook is kept separate between clients.
- Check support capacity: the company is young, so ask about onboarding staff and service levels.
