Deepslate raises 7.7 million euro for European speech-to-speech voice AI

1 October 2026 — Deepslate, a Berlin company building voice AI models for European businesses, has raised 7.7 million euro. Its own website now carries a banner marking the round, and Tech.eu reported it on 1 October 2026. Details below beyond the amount come from the Tech.eu report.

Not yet independently verified. The company site confirms only the amount (7.7 million euro) and is undated (read 2026-10-03). The seed stage, lead investor 42CAP, other investors (Alstin Capital, SIventures, angels), use of funds and benchmark figures come from Tech.eu alone; no dated company or investor announcement was found. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The round

  • Amount: 7.7 million euro, as stated on Deepslate's own site.
  • Stage: seed, according to Tech.eu. The company's page does not name a stage.
  • Lead investor: 42CAP, a Munich venture firm, per Tech.eu.
  • Other named investors: Alstin Capital, SIventures and business angels, per Tech.eu.
  • Use of the money: per Tech.eu, to widen model training and European data programmes (street names, personal names, dialects), reduce latency, improve voice quality, grow sales and marketing, and scale production across European data centres.

What the company does

Deepslate offers speech-to-speech models, which process spoken language directly rather than converting it to text and back. Its website positions the product for contact centres, insurers and platforms. It lists EU hosting, a zero-data-retention option as an add-on, a pay-as-you-go plan, and an enterprise plan with guaranteed concurrent lines, an SLA, self-hosting and hands-on onboarding. To mark the round, the site advertises a promotional rate of 2 cents per minute. Tech.eu cites a response time of 440 milliseconds in independent benchmarking and a best result for European-language error rates on the CoVoST2 test; these are the outlet's reported figures, not ones we have verified.

Why it matters for buyers

European firms that need voice agents but have data-residency or GDPR constraints get a locally hosted alternative to the large US providers. The pricing is published, so cost per minute can be modelled before a sales conversation. The company is early, so the question for buyers is capacity and continuity rather than model quality alone.

What to check

  • Confirm which languages and dialects you need are supported and ask for a test on your own call recordings.
  • Ask whether the 2 cent promotional rate is time-limited and what the standard rate is.
  • Ask for the data-processing agreement, the data-retention settings, and which data centres process audio.
  • For regulated work, ask about the SLA, self-hosting terms and the security certification linked from the site.
  • Ask about concurrency limits at peak, since guaranteed lines sit in the enterprise tier.
