Verdane leads a growth round in German security platform Enginsight
3 November 2026: Verdane, the European growth investor, is leading a growth round in Enginsight, a Jena company whose cybersecurity platform is sold mainly to mid-sized businesses and public bodies, and will become its largest shareholder when the round closes. Enginsight says Verdane is putting in "a double-digit million sum"; existing investors UVC, HDI and SIV are taking part alongside it.
Not yet independently verified. Enginsight gives the amount only as "a double-digit million sum" without a currency, and we could not read Verdane's own announcement (verdane.com refused our request). We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
One platform built entirely in Germany
Enginsight was founded in 2017 in Jena by Mario Jandeck, now chief executive, Eric Range and Max Tarantik, and writes all of its software in-house. Its platform combines vulnerability management, asset monitoring, attack detection, compliance analysis and automated response in a single product, and it also sells SIEM and a managed detection and response (MDR) service.
The company says it has more than 750 customers and over 80 staff. Its strongest base is the public sector, alongside healthcare providers and regulated industries, and demand is growing fastest among municipalities, hospitals and universities. Many German public bodies, it notes, prefer software developed in Germany that they can install and run inside their own infrastructure.
"We founded Enginsight in 2017 to solve a problem we faced ourselves," Jandeck says: there was no single product that gave full visibility and security across an entire IT estate.
Partners first, then markets beyond DACH
Enginsight sells through more than 250 active partners, a growing number of them managed service providers, and the round is built around that channel. The plan Verdane and the company describe has four parts: activate and develop the partner network, sell SIEM and MDR to existing customers, push into selected European markets, and buy companies to grow beyond Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The stated goal is a European cybersecurity platform. Verdane's operating team, Elevate, will help build the organisation for that stage.
"Enginsight combines the qualities we look for in ambitious growth companies at Verdane," says Dominik Schwarz, a partner at Verdane, naming a strong team, a convincing product and significant growth potential.
NIS2 as the demand behind the deal
The release ties the investment to NIS2, the EU cybersecurity directive, and to German rules for critical-infrastructure operators, which are pushing smaller companies and public organisations to spend on detection and response they did not buy before. For a municipality or hospital, a German-built platform sold and run by a local MSP is exactly the shape of purchase those rules tend to produce.
