AZOO raises ¥490m in total for its WASIMIL hotel operating system
14 October 2026: AZOO, the Kyoto company behind the WASIMIL hotel operating system, has completed a Series A that takes its total funding to ¥490 million, led by Mobile Internet Capital. The money is meant to turn a hotel platform into one that also runs routine back-office work through AI agents.
Not yet independently verified. The release gives a cumulative total of ¥490 million but does not say how much of it is the Series A itself, and customers are not named. Translations from the Japanese are ours. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
The company's own release gives the cumulative figure in its headline. It does not state what the Series A alone raised, so the ¥490 million should be read as the sum of everything AZOO has taken in so far.
Who put the money in
Mobile Internet Capital led the round. DNX Capital, Kyoshin Social Capital (a subsidiary of Kyoto Shinkin Bank) and ALL STAR SAAS FUND joined as new investors. The release also lists W Fund, GxPartners, G-STARTUP Fund, NEXTBLUE, the Kyoto University Startup Venture Fund, Fun&Creative Inc. and the individual investor Tomoya Nakano as participants, a mix of new and existing backers.
AZOO was founded on 31 January 2020 and is based in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. Its chief executive is Yuko Yokota, and the company is unlisted.
What WASIMIL puts in one system
WASIMIL is described as an integrated hotel operating system with more than 15 functions on one data foundation. The list in the release includes a property management system, reservations, channel management, CRM, revenue management, accounting and marketing. The point of the single data foundation is that a hotel does not have to stitch these tools together itself.
The release says the platform is in use at regional hotels and ryokan, including small and mid-sized properties in Kyoto, and that enterprise lodging operators have adopted it in bulk. It names no customer.
Where the AI agents come in
AZOO is building AI agents on top of the platform to take over repetitive back-office tasks. The example it gives is shift scheduling based on demand forecasts. According to the release, the company is currently running demonstrations with partners at large ryokan and hotel operators.
The funds have three stated uses:
- hiring "Deployment Strategists", who design AI-driven operational changes and carry them into hotel operations;
- widening reach among enterprise customers, and growing an "AX partner" business that works directly with hotel chains;
- further development of the WASIMIL AI agents.
Yokota's stated mission, in our translation of the Japanese, is to transform hotel operating models with data and AI and to make Japan a tourism-oriented nation.
What sits behind the headline
AZOO's pitch, as the release frames it, is breadth on one data model rather than a single module. The release does not say how many properties run WASIMIL, what it costs, or how much revenue the company earns, so the size of the business behind the round is not visible from this announcement.
