9 September 2026 — Lightfield, a startup building what it calls an AI-native customer relationship management platform, said on 9 September 2026 that it has raised $47 million in a Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Maverick Capital, Coatue, Audacious, Alumni Ventures, Greylock and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participating.
A note on this figure. TrustList does not normally report venture-funding amounts, valuations or deal counts, because we cannot independently verify a private company’s figures and a running tally of round sizes tells a reader little about whether a product works. We are naming Lightfield’s figure here as part of a one-day, disclosed exception the owner approved for 26 September 2026, because a CRM buyer comparing an early-stage AI-native entrant against incumbents may reasonably want to know how well funded it is. The amount above is Lightfield’s own, unverified by us, and this is not the start of a regular funding-news beat.
What Lightfield is building
- Lightfield's own pitch is that traditional CRMs were built around people manually entering data into fields and stages, while its platform automatically builds a continuously updated record from customer interactions, structured so that an AI agent can understand what happened, what is currently true, and what might happen next.
- The company says more than 5,000 companies have signed up since its product launched in November 2025, and that some teams have moved entire Salesforce implementations onto the platform — figures from Lightfield's own release, not independently confirmed here.
- The new funding is earmarked, according to the announcement, for accelerating growth and broadening what the platform's agent can do for customers, rather than for a specific named feature or release date.
Why it matters for a CRM buyer
- If you are evaluating CRM platforms for a team that already relies on AI agents for customer-facing work, Lightfield is a name built specifically around that use case, rather than an established CRM with AI features added on.
- Moving an entire CRM implementation, as Lightfield says some customers have done from Salesforce, is a significant undertaking; ask for named reference customers and a migration plan before treating it as routine.
- As an early-stage, recently funded vendor, ask directly about data portability and what happens to your customer record if Lightfield is acquired or shuts down — standard due diligence for any young SaaS vendor holding your customer data.
