TrustList summary

The EQS Sedan is for the buyer who wants a large, quiet electric saloon with a lot of technology and a rear cabin worth sitting in. Mercedes-Benz calls it the flagship of its electric fleet. In the United States it comes in three versions, and the choice is mostly about power and price.

Versions and price

The EQS 450+ has 402 hp, reaches 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and starts at US$101,450 MSRP. The EQS 500 4MATIC has 469 hp, takes 4.3 seconds and starts at US$104,450. The EQS 580 4MATIC has 576 hp, takes 3.9 seconds and starts at US$123,900. The two dual-motor versions use fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Mercedes-Benz does not state an EPA range, battery size or warranty.

Charging

Mercedes-Benz says fast DC charging is available at some 170,000 charge points nationwide. Charging times are estimates, and stations must support CCS, or the Mercedes-Benz adapter for the NACS connector. No charging power in kilowatts is given.

Inside

The MBUX Hyperscreen joins three displays under one span of glass, including one for the front passenger. The standard Burmester 3D Surround Sound system delivers 710 watts through 15 speakers, with Dolby Atmos. The heated and ventilated power front seats have kinetics that make small adjustments as you drive, and massage and heated seat belts are available. In the rear, the standard heated power seats come with wireless charging, and the seatbacks split-fold. Standard 20 inch wheels are offered, with 21 and 22 inch options.

Driver assistance and app

Active Parking Assist with a 360 degree camera is standard, alongside PRE-SAFE, which can adjust the front seats and belts before an impact. DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps with advanced adaptive beams are available. The Mercedes-Benz app works with iPhone, Apple Watch and Android phones and can act as a digital key, and the door handles extend as you approach. Many features need a Mercedes me ID and may need a paid renewal.
