TrustList summary

The Cayenne Electric suits a driver who needs a large SUV that can tow, go off the road and cover long distances, but wants it to be battery-electric. It comes as an SUV or a coupe, and the 2027 model year has three versions: the Cayenne Electric, the Cayenne S Electric and the Cayenne Turbo Electric.

Performance

With overboost and launch control the Cayenne Electric produces 325 kW (442 PS) and reaches 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The S Electric produces 490 kW (666 PS) and takes 3.8 seconds, and the Turbo Electric produces 850 kW (1,156 PS) and takes 2.5 seconds. All-wheel drive comes from two permanent magnet synchronous motors, and the front motor switches off under partial load. Towed weight reaches up to 3,500 kg with the optional Off-Road package.

Range and charging

The combined WLTP range is 568 to 641 km across the family. The 800-volt architecture allows DC charging of up to 390 kW under optimum conditions, and up to 400 kW under specific conditions. Porsche gives 16 minutes for 10 to 80 percent, or 290 to 324 km of range in 10 minutes, at a charger above 390 kW. There is an AC port on each side of the car that takes up to 11 kW, with 22 kW optional, and a DC port on the left side. An optional Porsche Wireless Charging System charges at home at up to 11 kW when you park over a floor plate. The Charging Planner plans stops on a route and preconditions the battery before you arrive.

On and off the road

Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management is fitted, along with height adjustment and off-road driving programmes. The wading depth is 500 mm. Optional extras include rear-axle steering, a trailer manoeuvring assistant and an AR Head-Up Display. The high-voltage battery is part of the body structure and has cooling plates above and below it. It is covered for eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, and Porsche guarantees 80 percent of net capacity for three years or 60,000 km, then at least 70 percent until the warranty ends.
