Sources in Vehicle factsThe XEV 9e is the luxury end of Mahindra's electric range: a five-seat electric SUV coupe with a long list of equipment, for buyers who want a comfortable, quiet car with a large cabin and long legs. Mahindra's tagline for it is Unlimit Luxury, and the Cineluxe edition sits above the standard car. It shares its electric platform with the BE 6.
The 79 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack is rated by Mahindra at 656 km on the MIDC P1+P2 cycle, and a smaller 59 kWh pack is listed at 522 km. Mahindra says the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. A 175 kW DC charger takes the battery from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Wall chargers of 7.2 kW and 11.2 kW can be added at home. The car is rear-wheel drive on 19 inch wheels in the variant shown, with semi-active suspension and selectable efficiency, performance and comfort drive modes.
The dashboard is a triple-screen layout of three 31.24 cm displays, with a 16 speaker Harman Kardon sound system and Dolby Atmos. An augmented reality head-up display called VisionX, a panoramic Infinity Roof with ambient lighting and a frunk as well as a boot are listed. The infotainment uses a Snapdragon 8295 chipset with 24 GB of memory and more than 60 apps, with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 5G.
Mahindra fits seven airbags and Level 2+ driver assistance with five radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors and one camera, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, 360-degree cameras and an Autopark function.
The standard XEV 9e starts at INR 21.90 lakh ex-showroom, and the Cineluxe edition at INR 29.35 lakh. The XEV 9e Three with the 79 kWh pack and no charger is listed at INR 30.50 lakh. Under the battery-as-a-service plan the standard car costs INR 13.90 lakh without the pack. The battery warranty is for life for the first private owner and 10 years or 200,000 km for later owners.
