Teradyne Robotics sues a JAKA unit over patents and settles with Elite
The Copenhagen case could produce a ruling covering 17 of the 18 Unified Patent Court states. The Elite Robots dispute ended by…
Universal Robots UR7e: a medium-duty e-Series cobot with 7.5 kg payload and 850 mm reach, offered on the CB5 controller or as the 920 mm UR7e-920 on CB7.

The UR7e sits in the middle of Universal Robots' e-Series. The maker presents it as a medium-duty arm that fits production lines of any size or industry, with motion tuned for consistent output without taking up more floor space. It handles 7.5 kg at 850 mm reach, between the small UR3e and the long-reaching UR12e.
Where the UR3e is a benchtop tool, the UR7e is the step up for jobs that need more reach and a heavier hand-held tool or workpiece but not the size of the 12.5 kg model. Its tool centre point speed of 4 m/s is faster than the UR3e's 3 m/s, and it weighs 20.6 kg. The e-Series overview page quotes a pose repeatability of plus or minus 0.03 mm for both the UR3e and the UR7e.
The page lists material handling, machine tending, assembly and quality inspection as applications. Its industry panel names electronics manufacturing, lab automation, education and research, and metal fabrication and machining, describing delicate small-part work with high repeatability, benchtop-friendly sample handling and tight machining cells.
The same integrated M8 8-pin female connector as the rest of the e-Series is fitted at the flange. It follows EN ISO 9409-1-50-4-M6 and supplies 12 V or 24 V power, two digital I/O configurable as sinking or sourcing, and two analog inputs or one RS-485 channel.
The UR7e-920 is the Gen 7 version, with 920 mm reach, the same 7.5 kg payload, 4 m/s speed and 20.6 kg weight. It uses the CB7 controller and TP7 Core teach pendant, which Universal Robots says gives a faster, more responsive PolyScope X experience in daily programming and operation.
