Mexican payments firm Clip takes over small-business software Pulpos

2 November 2026: Clip, the Mexican payments company, has acquired Pulpos, a cloud platform that runs sales, inventory and e-invoicing for small businesses, putting the card reader and the back office under one owner. Pulpos's site now reads "Ahora Pulpos forma parte de Clip" and says more than 12,000 businesses use it. No price has been stated.

Not yet independently verified. We found no press release from either party: the only party statement is a banner on Pulpos's site, and the deal details come from LatamList. No price or closing date is stated anywhere we read. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

What Clip gets

According to LatamList, Pulpos was founded in 2023 and offers tools for sales, inventory, electronic invoicing, finances and online stores, along with AI agents that work through WhatsApp. It raised $9 million in total: a $4 million seed with Andreessen Horowitz, H20 Capital Innovation, Latitud and Newtopia, and $5 million led by Dalus Capital in April 2026.

Clip plans to integrate its payments with those management tools, LatamList reports, while Pulpos keeps its brand and team. Pulpos's home page already links to Clip Total in Clip's shop.

Why electronic invoicing is the prize

In Mexico, a small business has to issue electronic invoices, so invoicing software is something a shop owner needs and tends to keep. For a payments company, adding it turns a card reader, which can be swapped for a rival's, into part of how the business keeps its books. It also gives Clip a view of a merchant's sales and stock that it would not get from card transactions alone.

A Pulpos customer who takes card payments through a different provider should ask whether that integration will be maintained, and whether pricing will come to favour customers who also use Clip.

Practical questions for existing customers

The site gives no indication of changes to plans or prices. Three points are worth raising with Pulpos now, rather than at renewal:

  • whether other card terminals and payment providers stay supported;
  • which company will hold the merchant's data and invoicing records after integration, and under what privacy notice;
  • whether the WhatsApp agents and online stores remain included in current plans.

Merchants holding tax records in the platform should also make sure they can export them, which is sensible at any change of ownership.

We list 14 payment processing products. Neither party has said when the integration will begin.
