Top cloud infrastructure (IaaS) providers

33 web hosting companies ranked by rating, review volume and listing quality.

Between them, the 33 web hosting companies on this page cover cloud storage (26), bare metal servers (9), VPS hosting (9) and cloud (7). They also list work in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America. 33 of them have written a profile you can read before you get in touch.

What to look for in cloud infrastructure (IaaS) providers

The right provider depends on your workload, where your users are and what your team can run, not only on its place in this list. Before you shortlist, check:

  • Regions where you need them, and the data-residency rules each region meets
  • How you will be billed: per second, hour or month, reservations and committed-use discounts
  • Egress (outbound traffic) prices, which often decide the bill
  • Managed services you will use beyond virtual machines: Kubernetes, databases, object storage
  • Support plans and their prices, and the cost of leaving

How to use this ranking

Use it to build a shortlist. Each profile lists the hosting types a provider sells, the countries it runs servers in and its prices as printed on its own site, with the date we read them. Test the two or three that fit before you move anything that matters.

How is this ranking of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) providers worked out?

A position here is earned, never bought. It is worked out from what each listing documents and what has been verified about it: a complete, accurate profile, and the checks a provider has passed. Client reviews count where they exist, but they are still rare across this catalogue, so today the order comes mainly from documentation and verification. A top position means best-documented, not best for your workload.

Can a provider pay to move up?

No. Sponsored and Featured places are labelled and shown apart from the ranked list, and they never change a provider’s position in it. How rankings work
