Being listed, ranked, vetted or entered for an award never costs anything.
Nothing paid counts
Sponsored placements are labelled and shown apart from the ranking. Paid services, including commissioned expert reviews, never add a point.
Evidence before a rank number
A listing gets a number when there is something checked about it. Until then it is listed, not ranked.
Nothing hidden
Every criterion, weight and scale is below. Weights change only with a new version, announced in advance.
