This page ranks design agencies in the United Kingdom, covering branding, web, print and product design studios. TrustList lists 226 of them, and 46 earned a rank number in the Q4 2026 edition. Among the ranked, four hold a professional accreditation and one is a Google partner. Forty-one state a founding date, 22 of them in the 2000s and eight in the 1990s, with one reaching back to the 1930s. London is the most common base (8), followed by Edinburgh (4), and five more simply give the United Kingdom.

How to choose design agencies

1. Be clear which kind of design
Brand identity, web design, packaging and product design need different skills. Check the portfolio covers your type of job, and who on the team did that work.
2. Settle who owns the artwork
Ask in writing who owns logos, source files and fonts, and when ownership passes to you. Check that any licensed images, typefaces or stock material are covered for your use.
3. Ask how revisions are handled
Find out how many rounds of changes are included, who signs off each stage and what happens when the brief changes. Unclear revision limits are a common source of disputes.
4. Look at accessibility and handover
For websites, ask whether the build meets accessibility guidelines, which platform it uses and whether you can edit it yourself. Agree who hosts it and who has the logins.
5. Agree fees and stages up front
Ask for a written proposal that splits the work into stages with a price for each. Check what is charged for extras such as photography, print production or travel.
6. Look for relevant references
Ask to speak to a client with a similar sector or budget. Specialist agencies often show deeper knowledge than generalists, but only if their past work matches your brief.
