pixolution

pixolution is image search software that finds pictures by what they show. Its main product, Flow, can be hosted on the customer's own infrastructure and works on large collections. It is aimed at organisations that manage digital assets, product photos and similar visual data.

What pixolution offers

• Visual search — upload an image, paste a link or pick a colour to find similar content in a collection.
• Hybrid search — vector-based image matching combined with ordinary text queries in one engine.
• Duplicate detection — spots copies that have been rotated, blurred, cropped, recoloured or had text added.
• Colour palette search — finds images and products that share a given palette.
• Visual filters and tagging — filters, facets and keyword-based tagging of an image library.
• Custom AI work — classification, detection and ranking models, plus consulting on AI projects.

Who it works with

Digital asset management platforms, product catalogues and other image-heavy collections. The vendor also lists real estate, textiles and print and design material as typical content.

Key facts

• Current release: Flow 5, with Flow 4 versions before it.
• Deployment: self-hosted, so data stays inside the customer's own systems, which helps with GDPR.
• Scaling: extra nodes can be added to share load and replicate data.
• Hardware: uses CPU acceleration rather than requiring GPU servers.
