pixolution

pixolution is a Berlin software company whose main product, Flow 5, is a self-hosted image search engine driven by visual AI. Flow 5 blends vector-based similarity matching with text search and filters, letting teams query big picture libraries by their visual content. The firm also runs visual-AI consulting and automation projects, and says it has worked on the product for over ten years with clients from Germany to Singapore.

What pixolution offers

• Visual similarity search — surfaces matching pictures, objects or related concepts in a collection, and can be mixed with filters and text.
• Duplicate detection — catches exact and near copies, including cropped, rotated, blurred, recoloured or resized versions, without needing metadata.
• Colour and visual filters — palette extraction, copy-space detection for placing text and detection of plain backgrounds or isolated objects.
• Self-hosted scaling — deployed with Kubernetes or Docker on servers the client controls, using replication, sharding and CPU acceleration in place of GPU machines.
• Consulting — prototypes, AI concepts and workshops for teams whose work revolves around images.

Who it works with

It serves organisations with large image collections such as product catalogues, digital assets, real estate and textile designs. The asset management vendor NetX has built Flow 5 into its platform.
