Takeovers with dates from the exchanges: Tribal votes on 2 October, Gamma on 20 October, SYSTEX tender runs to 5 November

29 September 2026 — Stock-exchange filings are the parties' own statements, with exact dates. Five filed between 25 and 29 September 2026 change who will own software and communications services that businesses and universities rely on.

Tribal Group: vote on 2 October, and a rival approach

Tribal Group, whose student information systems are used by universities and colleges, asks shareholders on 2 October 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to approve the sale of its businesses to Thames Bidco, controlled by funds managed or advised by Main Capital Partners. On 27 September Tribal raised the price to about 105 pence per share, and its board still recommends the sale; if approved, Tribal's AIM listing is cancelled and the company is wound up by members' voluntary liquidation. On 29 September Jenzabar, Inc., which holds about 26.19% of Tribal, announced a possible cash offer of 111 pence per share under Rule 2.4 of the Takeover Code, urged shareholders to vote against, and asked the board to adjourn the meeting. There is no certainty an offer will be made. Customers should check: change-of-control and assignment clauses in their Tribal contracts, and the product roadmap under either owner.

Gamma Communications: meetings on 20 October, Waterland must decide by 13 October

Gamma, a UK provider of business voice, SIP and unified communications, agreed on 1 September to a recommended cash offer from Bradbury Bidco, controlled by funds advised by Epiris; shareholder meetings are convened for 20 October 2026. On 29 September the Takeover Panel ruled that Waterland Private Equity must, by 5 p.m. on 13 October, announce a firm offer or say it will not bid. All parties accepted the ruling. Customers and resellers should check: contract terms and renewal timing ahead of a private-equity owner.

Taiwan Mobile's tender for SYSTEX extended to 5 November

Taiwan Mobile is making a tender offer, through its subsidiary Taiwan Telecom, for SYSTEX, a Taiwanese IT services and software company. On 29 September it extended the offer period, which was due to end on 6 October, to 3:30 p.m. on 5 November 2026, because the Fair Trade Commission is still reviewing the deal. Customers should check: data-handling and contract terms under a telecom group's control.

HUBER+SUHNER to buy Motion Applied's Connected Intelligence business

Swiss connectivity group HUBER+SUHNER said in an ad hoc announcement on 25 September that it has agreed to buy the Connected Intelligence business, including the Fleet Connect platform, of Woking-based Motion Applied, subject to conditions and regulatory approvals. Rail operators are among its customers.

Virtualware completes its purchase of Virtalis

Virtualware, a Spanish company listed on Euronext Growth Paris, said on 28 September that it has completed the acquisition of all of Virtalis, a Manchester-based virtual-reality software company.
